The curved wooden sneath (also called snath, snead, scythe handle, or scythe tree) is available in five sizes. It is made of high-quality ash wood and ergonomically shaped. Even after extended mowing, the wooden sneath sits comfortably in the hand. The matching wooden sneath is chosen according to body height. The handles of the scythe sneath can be adjusted to individual needs via the pre-drilled holes. Every scythe from our assortment fits this wooden sneath, with the exception of the 130 cm competition scythe.
Included in the scope of delivery are a scythe ring, wrench, wooden wedge, as well as a detailed assembly and adjustment manual.
ATTENTION: The latest model is designed with an advanced scythe ring without a plastic damper. Further information on this can be found in the supplementary sheet included in the assembly and adjustment manual.

A whetstone holder should always be kept close at hand when scythe mowing. It is simply worn on the belt or waistband and filled with a little water. This whetstone holder is made of plastic and comes with a metal belt hook. Thanks to its yellow color, it is easy to find at any time.
Important: Only select this service for scythes with a length of 35cm to 75cm! Essentially, all scythes we sell are pre-peened by machine multiple times and coated with anti-rust lacquer. With this optional service, the scythe becomes even sharper and is particularly well-suited for young and green grass. We perform the following work steps: The anti-rust lacquer is removed from the cutting edge area by grinding. The cutting edge is professionally and uniformly thin-peened by hand. Even if new scythe blades are labeled "ready to mow" (whether ours or from other brands), they only truly become ready after the anti-rust lacquer has been removed.
The popular whetstone is a natural product from Italy with a medium-fine grain. It is suitable for sharpening scythes with a fine edge. The natural stone features a fine, uniform grain and very high wear resistance. Each whetstone should be moistened with water before use to allow the grain to work optimally.
With this scythe peening jig, you can work on the primary bevel (the 'dengel'), which is the approximately 5 mm wide area directly along the scythe's cutting edge. During the peening process, a geometrically flat cutting wedge is created through cold forming, which increases both the hardness and toughness of the edge. This ensures an ideal mowing result. The scope of delivery includes the anvil with a guide pin and anvil spike, as well as the silver peening cap for rough-peening and the gold peening cap for final sharpening of the cutting edge.
Sturdy model with a beard width of approx. 90 mm for tall, dense grass. The heavier the use, the shorter the scythe chosen. This scythe shape was traditionally used on farms in Germany. It is still used there today. It is available in three different lengths. An adjustment and assembly manual is included in the scope of delivery.
